We are wondering what exactly that period of history was, and only through books can help us truly understand the real situation. It seems that we cannot accept that this is the Medieval Ages without these condiments. Since these artworks are often incorporate elements such as religion or magic, which makes us feel that this period of history is more mysterious. Also some of the medieval movies (The Lord of the Rings, The Chronicles of Narnia, Game of Thrones, etc.) and game themes (Fire Emblem series, Dark Souls, The Witcher 3, Assassin’s Creed, etc.) that we have come into contact with Medieval ages are somewhat magical. We can recall those familiar medieval figures like: King Arthur, Joan of Arc, Wallace, Robin Hood, Saladin, Red Beard, Richard I the Lionheart, Charlemagne, and so on. There are too many stories, characters, wars, legends in this history. This period of history spans a very long term of time, involves many countries and ethnic groups, and has a vast territory. Nowadays, people basically learn about the Medieval Ages through TV dramas, movies, documentaries, and games. When we were thinking about the history of the Medieval Ages, we found that our knowledge of this period of history was too shallow.
